It was designed for me ...

Today, I feel especially loved.  I mentioned my friend Robin who inspires me to be inspired.  Her Etsy shop has some really fun and imaginative things.  I drooled for months (and it felt like years) over a couple of necklaces she made, and they are now mine. I have been fingering the necklaces and the sachets and all I can think of is how lucky I am to know someone who is so creative, gifted, and willing to share her light with me.

The sachets were made from quilt tops that she has repurposed.  When I smell the lavender and finger the fabric, my mind goes back to the first part of the last century to a different place.  I can see a housewife pondering over bolts of fabric looking for the right one to add just that touch of a special something to the top of a quilt.
When I was a kid, my granny had some old skeleton keys that I thought were the coolest things in the world.  Though they opened nothing, they fueled my imagination ... probably I watched too much Upstairs Downstairs when I was a kid - well, that or Sherlock Holmes movies. So these keys make me think back to what secrets were hidden away by a woman wearing an overly severe black dress with a touch of lace only at the cuffs and the neckline.

I have a serious case of the warm fuzzies, doesn't even matter that it is over 100F outside!

OK, now I'm inspired, too.

Robin's work and your work are so wonderful.

I'm going to try to take time to look for my secret stash of beads and maybe fix my quilt that needs some TLC.

The heat touched a few memories for me. My husband and son were born in Fresno. I'll never forget the year it hit 112. LOL.

Hugs.
