29 days of giving challenge - follow through ... day 19

Anyone who knows me knows I'm not a huge fan of doctors, hospitals, laboratories, or tests of any kind.

Years ago, hubby and I actually took a course that had a True/False test at the end.  Since I thought things could go one way or the other, I gave an essay answer.  The teacher was beyond flummoxed and had to re-write most of his exam questions after we talked since I told him I could have done that to the entire test.

I digress.

Two years ago, I swore to myself that I'd get on top of my health issues.  Keep and cheerfully attend quarterly doctor's appointments.  And most importantly, I'd actually listen to someone who wasn't my chiropractor.  (I happen to have a love-love relationship with my chiropractor and somehow I thought that was enough.  I was wrong.)  Turns out that things didn't get worse, but they didn't get better either.

Today, I actually followed through and joined a gym.  More than that, I walked through the doors without bolting and searching my purse for money for the juice bar.

The upside?  It will make a positive impact on my diabetes.  Possibly it will make a difference for other things as well.

The downside?  Admitting I don't like to follow through and hiring someone to make me do what I should have done voluntarily years ago.

I dream of the rock! right now, I am contented with a tiny woman who can kick my ample rump from here until next week! send him my regards, will you, babe?
